Advances in animal nutrition and their role in improving productivity and sustainability in livestock systems will be the focus of the 10th Animal Nutrition Conference of Canada (ANCC), scheduled for May 5–7, 2026 at the Westin Edmonton, in Edmonton, Alberta.

Hosted by the Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC), the conference will mark its tenth edition under the theme “Nutrition as the Nexus between Crop Production and Animal Rearing.” The event will bring together researchers, nutritionists and industry leaders to discuss the latest developments in applied animal nutrition and their impact on modern crop and livestock production systems.

The programme will address several key areas of research, including gut health, fibre nutrition, microbiome science, precision farming and crop–livestock integration, highlighting the role of nutrition in improving resilience, sustainability and productivity in Canadian agriculture.

According to Nancy Fischer, Program Chair for ANCC 2026, the conference has become one of Canada’s leading events dedicated to animal nutrition because it brings together academia, government, regulators and the feed industry in a single forum to discuss both scientific innovation and practical applications.

Among the speakers is Tim McAllister, researcher and member of the conference organising committee, who emphasises the importance of nutrition in enhancing production performance.

“Small adjustments in formulation, digestibility and nutrient utilization can translate into meaningful gains in productivity and economic returns,” McAllister noted.

The conference programme will include plenary presentations, dedicated sessions for monogastric and ruminant nutrition, graduate student research highlights and networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration between academia and industry.

ANCC 2026 will also celebrate the 10th anniversary of the conference, with special activities and networking events planned to recognise a decade of collaboration within Canada’s animal nutrition community.

Registration for ANCC 2026 is now open. Full program details and registration information are available at www.animalnutritionconference.ca.
