After the remarkable success of VIV Select China 2025 in Nanjing, the organizers of the leading livestock industry exhibition have announced a major strategic move: the 2026 edition will take place in Shanghai, one of the world’s foremost international business hubs. The relocation underscores the show’s ambition to enhance global connectivity and strengthen its role as a one-stop trade platform for the livestock sector.

A record-breaking edition in Nanjing

Held from September 10–12 at the Nanjing International Expo Center, VIV Select China 2025 welcomed 485 exhibitors from across the globe, including companies from Europe, the Americas, and Asia. More than 30,000 square meters of exhibition space showcased the latest in animal health, feed, genetics, smart technologies, and environmental solutions. Leading Chinese players such as Nxin Digital Intelligence, Yukou, Xingyi, and China Animal Husbandry joined international innovators in presenting new technologies and business models.

The event attracted over 4,000 international visitors from 108 countries, alongside delegations from more than 10 domestic and international industry organizations. This strong participation confirmed VIV Select China’s growing reputation as a must-attend event for global livestock professionals.

Shanghai: a new stage for global collaboration

The next edition will be held August 19–21, 2026, in Hall 1 of the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. With the theme “Connecting the Globe, Building a One-Stop Livestock Trade Platform”, the move to Shanghai offers exhibitors and visitors greater access to China’s dynamic livestock sector while providing a stronger bridge to international markets.

“Bringing VIV Select China to Shanghai is a natural step forward,” said Jeroen van Hooff, CEO of Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs. “Shanghai is not only a global hub for business, but also a meeting point for international and Chinese markets. By moving the show here, we are giving our partners the best stage to connect, exchange ideas, and grow together.”

Four highlights shaping the 2026 edition

The organizers have announced several upgraded features for the Shanghai edition:

  • V-AI+ Smart Livestock Zone: Showcasing AI, IoT, and big-data tools for precision feeding, disease prevention, and smart farm management.

  • Full industry chain coverage: From feed to food processing, creating an integrated procurement hub for global buyers.

  • Green and low-carbon technologies: Addressing decarbonization with biogas, biomethane, carbon capture, and sustainable energy solutions.

  • Expanded international pavilions: Strengthening cross-border cooperation with exhibitors from Europe, North America, and Belt & Road countries.

Co-location with Pet Fair Asia

For the first time, VIV Select China 2026 will run alongside Pet Fair Asia, held August 19–23 in nearby halls. The dual exhibitions will create synergies across the livestock and companion animal industries, with shared conferences, shuttle services, and networking opportunities.

A global platform for China’s livestock industry

Since its debut in 2000, VIV Select China has become an essential platform for international cooperation in the livestock sector. Visitor numbers have increased sharply year after year, and 2025 marked a record for global participation. Moving to Shanghai in 2026 is expected to further expand scale, influence, and international integration—positioning the event as a central hub for trade, innovation, and knowledge exchange in the Asia-Pacific region.

Early-bird bookings for exhibitors are now open, with discounts available until October 12, 2025.
