The 39th edition of SPACE, held from 16 to 18 September 2025 at the Rennes Exhibition Centre, will be remembered as a record-breaking year for one of the world’s leading exhibitions in animal farming.

According to the organizers, the show welcomed 1,230 exhibitors from 40 countries and 102,528 visitors, including 14,011 international attendees from 125 nations—an 11% increase compared to 2024. Wednesday alone drew 45,781 visitors, the busiest single day in the event’s history.

A political and international platform
The presence of leading political figures underscored SPACE’s role as a major platform for the livestock industry. French Agriculture Minister Annie Genevard officially opened the show, joined by national and regional leaders. For the first time, an African Minister—Mabouba Diagne from Senegal—participated in the opening ceremony, alongside delegations from across West Africa.

A partnership with Business France brought in 25 high-potential investors, while new agreements with the Maison de l’Europe reinforced ties with EU decision-makers. International media coverage was also unprecedented, with 70 journalists from 30 countries reporting on the event.

Youth, training, and skills for the future
SPACE 2025 placed strong emphasis on the next generation of farmers. The Youth Forum provided a platform for young voices, while initiatives such as the Tech’Agri Challenge and guided tours for students showcased innovation and passion for farming careers. Agricultural influencers were also on hand to connect with the younger audience.

Artificial intelligence and innovation in focus
The Espace for the Future spotlighted artificial intelligence, with demonstrations and discussions on practical applications for farm management, animal welfare, and environmental efficiency. Examples included robotic tools, wearable technologies for cows, and predictive dashboards for herd management.

A highlight of the program was the first Agreen Challenge Hackathon, which generated prototype solutions addressing heat stress prediction, digital herd management, and automated processes.

Innov’Space celebrates 30 years
Marking its 30th anniversary, Innov’Space recognized 43 companies for their innovations, reflecting three decades of progress in digital tools, predictive technologies, and solutions designed to improve productivity and sustainability on farms.

Competitions and record-breaking auctions
Animal presentations and competitions once again drew crowds. The Prim’Holstein Grand Champion title went to Madison from Marne, while the Supreme Champion was Susette, a French Brown from Maine-et-Loire.

The Genomic Elite auction achieved record results, with an average of €6,470 for 20 heifers, and three Prim’Holstein animals selling for over €10,000 each. The top price reached €17,500.

Women in agriculture and social engagement
SPACE also celebrated women in farming with exhibitions highlighting their contributions, while supporting Pink October through fundraising initiatives for the French Cancer League.

A record-breaking edition
With more than 120 conferences and debates, 50 SPACE TV sessions, and unprecedented levels of international engagement, SPACE 2025 confirmed its reputation as a leading hub for innovation, knowledge-sharing, and global exchange in animal farming.

The next edition of SPACE will return to Rennes from 15 to 17 September 2026.
