World Egg Day 2021 – Friday 8 October

335

In recent years we have seen organisations break World Records, develop promotional cookbooks and use the power of social media to highlight why eggs form such an important part of a healthy and balanced diet.

For centuries, eggs have played a major role in feeding families around the globe. They are an unbeatable package when it comes to versatility and top-quality protein at a very affordable price. And they are also an excellent source of choline, essential in memory and brain development. Egg Day celebrates these delightful little packages of deliciousness, and the incredibly important role they play in our day to day lives.

World Egg Day was established at the IEC Vienna 1996 conference when it was decided to celebrate the nutritional power of the egg on the second Friday in October each year. Since then, egg producers and businesses have taken advantage of the promotional opportunities that this celebratory egg day offers, to promote the benefits of eating eggs and showcase the versatility of this wonderful product.
